I will once again be participating in the Naperville Country Club Holiday Boutique. This year I won't have cupcakes, but will be selling my caramels and truffles. I have collaborated with my friend Patty (who sells delicious toffee) and we have formed a new venture called "Confectionately Yours". Please come out and see us. I will be participating in Naperville Country Club's Holiday Boutique on Saturday, November 13.

Naperville country Club is expecting 20+ artists/vendors, offering a wide selection of unique and high-quality items-including jewelry, hand-blown glass, scarves, belts, pottery, mittens, embroidered pajamas, painted glass, decoupage wood bowls, candles, handmade soaps, stationery, baby and toddler accessories, holiday ornaments and accessories and handcrafted chocolates and other delectables.

All those attending will be asked to make a $5 donation, which entirely benefits the Sharing Connections Furniture Bank (located in Downers Grove, provides furniture and household items to low-income families helping them transform a bare apartment or house into a home).

Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win items donated by vendors participating in the Holiday Boutique. Raffle proceeds will benefit the Sharing Connections Furniture Bank.

Lunch, seasonal cocktails and regular beverages will be offered for purchase throughout the day.

I am so excited to announce a new book that is coming out and I have the privilege of being in. The editors contacted me months ago to ask if they could include some of my cupcakes and cookies into the book. I was so flattered. Rosie's Cupcake Tower

I was so honored when Icing Smiles contacted me to provide a cupcake tower for Rosie. Icing Smiles is a wonderful organization that provides birthday cakes to children with critical illnesses. What a pleasure it was to make this "celebration of life" theme cupcake tower for Rosie and her family. It was so great to meet them today when I delivered the goodies. Rosie lights up the room as soon as she walks in; she is a bundle of positive energy. What a doll!! She was so excited to see her cake and was over the top when she found out the figure on top was her. My dear friend Patty of Sweet P Sweets made the cake topper.

Sweet 16 Cupcakes

These cupcakes were created for a sweet 16 party. They are red velvet with cream cheese (the birthday girl's favorite) and yellow and chocolate with vanilla buttercream. The decorations incorporate Nicole's favorite colors and her initial. I was asked to shape the cupcakes into the #16, so I brought my husband along to help me with that task. I am spatially challenged (to say the least). I think he did a pretty good job :)

Brownie Cups

I decided to make Ina Garten's Brownie Tart recipe for a dinner party I was having. When I started making it, I thought "I should put the brownies in these adorable cups I bought instead of the tart pan". I love how they turned out. I purchased the cups at Fancy Flours because I thought they were so cute and I have been waiting for an opportunity to use them. I made the recipe exactly as it is, but put the batter into these cups (instead of the greased and floured tart pan). I filled the cups about half full. After they were cooled I drizzled chocolate on top and sprinkled with mini chocolate chips. They were delicious!!! Much easier than cutting and plating all the brownies for my guests.

It is with much sadness that I am announcing the closing of Rose Petals Cakery. After a lot of deliberation, I decided that the best thing for my family and I right now would be to close the business. I have truly enjoyed working with all my clients and providing treats for all your special events. I hope my cupcakes, cookies and candies have been enjoyed by all!! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported my business over the past few years. It means the world to me.

Anderson Bookstore Event

I am so honored to be a part of this event that is being put on by People Family Storyteller. This was one of my kid's favorite books; I can't believe it is 25 years old. They are handing out milk and chocolate chip cookies to all the kids and I am making the cookies. It's so exciting. These were created for Ellysen's 2nd Birthday. I have been doing sweets for all of Ellysen's special events (mom's baby shower, baptism and first birthday). It is so fun to do things for this family. The theme of the party this year was Abby Cadabby. My client and I decided on butterflies and hearts in the colors of the theme.

I received this lovely note from my client:

Hi Rose,

I just wanted to write you and thank you for everything. It all turned out PERFECT! I can't believe how well the colors matched everything I had set up for the party. I'm so happy that my client shared her photos with me. My battery was out when I made these sweets and I wasn't able to take any pictures. The little smash cake (chocolate with vanilla buttercream) has a chocolate turtle to go along with the turtle theme of the party. The cupcakes were chocolate and yellow both with vanilla buttercream. I also made cupcake shaped sugar cookies in blue and green; they were party favors for all the guests. My client put together her own cupcake tower, it's so cute! I love seeing the babies eating the smash cake that I make for them :) How sweet is Ryan?!!

The party was for her beautiful twin girls, Michal and Kenna, who were turning 6 and were so excited for their awesome party. Kristi really outdid herself. My contribution was the butterfly cupcakes to go along with the theme of the "Fancy Nancy" birthday party. How great is the cupcake tower. I was asked to sell my truffles at a Champagne tasting event at the Distinctive Cork in Naperville. My friend Patty was there selling her delicious toffee as well. We had a great time (especially trying the different champagnes) and were able to sell our treats as Holiday gifts. If you are in Naperville, check out the Distinctive Cork it's a really nice wine bar and restaurant. My truffles are on the dessert menu; which is really exciting for me!

Twilight Themed 40th Birthday

I was asked to create cupcakes for a 40th birthday party with a Twilight theme. The birthday girl is a huge fan (don't you love the photo shopped pictures of her and Edward). Since I have never read the books or seen the movie I scoured the Internet for inspiration. I found another bakery in a different state that did this on the cupcakes, I thought it was so cute I decided I would use it. The cupcakes are yellow and chocolate with a combination of frosting (chocolate fudge, coffee buttercream and vanilla buttercream). I've been told that the birthday girl was really pleased with her cupcakes ;)

I thought about shopping bags with the zebra stripes. The cupcakes were all individually boxed so the girl's can take them as favors. I love the way the individual box looks all wrapped up; so cute! She suggested me for desserts when her husband's assistant was planning this shower. Thanks, Laurie :)!! I made two separate towers both with the blue/pink theme. The tower with the pink baby bottles is red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. 800 SUGAR COOKIES!!

I just completed and delivered an order of 800 decorated sugar cookies. I actually can't believe that I pulled this off. It was quite a feat! The cookies were ordered by my clients at Gerard Design who were handing them out to their clients as Halloween gifts. Very generous of them. I recruited my friend Allison to help me with about 115 and made the rest all by myself. There were many sleepless nights. My husband (click on his picture and check out his t-shirt) was a sweetheart and took 2 days off of work to help me bag and tie them, put them in trays and deliver them to the client. These pictures just show a small percentage of the total cookies. These were the first batch that were laid out at the kitchen, waiting to be put in bags. I am taking the weekend off and am looking forward to every minute :)

These cupcakes were created for a little girl's baptism. My client lives in Los Angeles and found me online. The baptism was in Chicago. I love having clients out of state; it's awesome! The flavors for the event were white chocolate with caramel buttercream, carrot with cream cheese, red velvet with cream cheese and chocolate with vanilla buttercream. These were really fun to make. I'm so grateful my client, Erin, sent me this picture. I forgot to take one and was really bummed, because I was so happy with how they turned out.

Hello!

I ordered cupcakes for my daughter Quinn’s baptism in Chicago a few weeks ago and wanted to share that the cupcakes were gorgeous and so yummy! We ordered red velvet, carrot, chocolate with vanilla frosting, and white chocolate cake with caramel frosting. Even though we had ordered plenty of extras, the cupcakes went so fast! Although they were all great, the white chocolate cake with caramel frosting was absolute heaven—it was like all good things in one small little package. Everyone at the baptism reception raved about the cupcakes. Thank you so much for making the cupcakes for our special day.

A Very Hungry Caterpillar Cupcakes

These cupcakes were created for a baby shower whose theme was "A Very Hungry Caterpillar"; the adorable and beloved children's book by Eric Carle. These caterpillars were very challenging and definitely a labor of love. I'm happy with how they turned out, but they were a lot of work. The dots on the other cupcakes represent all the dots that the caterpillar walks on, on the cover of the book. The cupcake flavors are: yellow with vanilla buttercream and chocolate chip with chocolate fudge.

50th Birthday Cupcakes

These were created for a client who was throwing a surprise 50th birthday party for her mom. She saw cupcakes similar to these online and asked me to recreate them. I made them with my own twist. Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and lemon cupcakes with lemon curd buttercream.

My client requested these cupcakes for her daughter's birthday party. They are going to see "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs" and then wanted cupcakes for after the movie. I would say these are appropriate. I got the idea for these from the book Hello Cupcake. They were really fun to do. The spaghetti is buttercream, the meatball is Ferrero Rocher candy, the sauce is raspberry jam mixed with buttercream and the parmesan is grated white chocolate. It's almost hard to wrap your brain around the fact that they are sweet not savory. I hope the kids like them.

These cookies were created to be a part of a goodie bag for an Air Force Reunion of 50 years. The party goers were coming in from around the country and when they arrived at their hotel they were going to be receiving welcoming bags with my cookies in them. I love this tower!! It is so much fun. The tower was created for an engagement party that had a Caribbean theme; from the decorations to the food the entire room felt like you were transported. This tower was for a wedding held at the Patrick Haley Mansion in Joliet. What a beautiful venue for a wedding! I love this cupcake tower! The bride and her parents made it. It was so beautiful, they did an amazing job. The top cake was made by Patty and the flowers were done by Flowers By Color. The florist was really wonderful; everything she created for the event was just lovely. The cupcakes on the tower were chocolate with cream cheese frosting and yellow with vanilla buttercream. All cupcakes were decorated with edible sugar pearls. The other flavors of cupcakes (they were in the kitchen to be served on trays) were red velvet with cream cheese frosting and chocolate chip with chocolate fudge.

The bride wanted to stick with simple decorations all along the pale green color that matched the orchids that were used. I did some monograms of their last name initial and some green dots, the other cupcakes had some soft sugar. This tower was created for a wedding at Meson Sabika in Naperville. The restaurant is Spanish and the bride and groom decided on a Spanish style theme for the wedding.
