Merry Christmas!!

Just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! I thought I would share this photo of our family tree that my 13 year old daughter took. She loves taking pictures and has become the resident family photographer.

Christmas Cupcakes

I have been wanting to decorate cupcakes with mini sugar cookies for the longest time and have finally had the chance to. I love how they turned out. Yellow and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream.

Distinctive Cork Champagne Tasting Event

I was asked to sell my truffles at a Champagne tasting event at the Distinctive Cork in Naperville. My friend Patty was there selling her delicious toffee as well. We had a great time (especially trying the different champagnes) and were able to sell our treats as Holiday gifts. If you are in Naperville, check out the Distinctive Cork it's a really nice wine bar and restaurant. My truffles are on the dessert menu; which is really exciting for me!

Twilight Themed 40th Birthday

I was asked to create cupcakes for a 40th birthday party with a Twilight theme. The birthday girl is a huge fan (don't you love the photo shopped pictures of her and Edward). Since I have never read the books or seen the movie I scoured the Internet for inspiration. I found another bakery in a different state that did this on the cupcakes, I thought it was so cute I decided I would use it. The cupcakes are yellow and chocolate with a combination of frosting (chocolate fudge, coffee buttercream and vanilla buttercream). I've been told that the birthday girl was really pleased with her cupcakes ;)

Zoe's Birthday

These were created to match the plates and napkins for a little girl's birthday party. They were to be displayed on one of my cupcake towers. My client did the pick up and set up, so I am looking forward to receiving pictures from her of the tower all finished. Patty did the top cake and I would love to see how it all came together. The cupcakes are chocolate chip with chocolate fudge and white chocolate with vanilla buttercream.

Lila's Birthday

My client asked me to create cupcakes for her daughter Lila's birthday party. The girls were doing a scavenger hunt at a shopping mall. The invitations were pink with brown zebra stripes. I thought about shopping bags with the zebra stripes. The cupcakes were all individually boxed so the girl's can take them as favors. I love the way the individual box looks all wrapped up; so cute! Please excuse the awful pictures, but I forgot my camera and used my phone. I'm hoping my client took some pictures and will share so that I can put them on the blog. These were really fun to do.

Volleyball Cookies

These were created for the freshman volleyball team for Naperville Central High School. My client's daughter is on the team and she was having a party at her house for all the girls. These are going to be handed out to the girls and I made smaller volleyballs with NCHS on them to give to the parents as dessert.

Cheryl's Birthday

My client, who is a principal at a grade school, asked me to make these for one of her employees and deliver to the school as a birthday surprise. Yellow cupcakes with vanilla buttercream.

Baby Shower

I created these cupcake towers for a baby shower at McDonald's corporate office. My in there was my friend Laurie, whose husband works there. She suggested me for desserts when her husband's assistant was planning this shower. Thanks, Laurie :)!! I made two separate towers both with the blue/pink theme. The tower with the pink baby bottles is red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. The tower with the teddy bears and bottles is yellow cupcakes with chocolate fudge and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream. Sorry for the blurry pictures :(

Carly's 5th Birthday

These were created for my client's daughter, Carly's, 1st birthday. She was having her party at a paint your own pottery place. I was asked to do yellow cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and decorate them with pink and purple daisies. The cookies will serve as the party favors; they were made to match the colors of the cupcake decorations.

2nd Birthday Party!

These were created for a client whose daughter was celebrating her 2nd birthday with an Elmo themed party. We decided to do stars in Elmo's colors. Cupcake flavor is red velvet with cream cheese frosting. I did red velvet cupcakes for my client's daughter's 1st birthday; she wants to order red velvet every year as a tradition. I love that :)

800 SUGAR COOKIES!!

I just completed and delivered an order of 800 decorated sugar cookies. I actually can't believe that I pulled this off. It was quite a feat! The cookies were ordered by my clients at Gerard Design who were handing them out to their clients as Halloween gifts. Very generous of them. I recruited my friend Allison to help me with about 115 and made the rest all by myself. There were many sleepless nights. My husband (click on his picture and check out his t-shirt) was a sweetheart and took 2 days off of work to help me bag and tie them, put them in trays and deliver them to the client. These pictures just show a small percentage of the total cookies. These were the first batch that were laid out at the kitchen, waiting to be put in bags. I am taking the weekend off and am looking forward to every minute :)

These were created for a client who needed a design to be two-fold. She was having homecoming dinner for her daughter and a group of friends with a fall theme; and it was her husband's birthday. We agreed on fall leaves. Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and yellow cupcakes with vanilla frosting.

Sydney's 13th Birthday Party

These cupcakes were designed for my daughter's friend, Sydney, who is have her 13th birthday party tonight. Sydney wanted designs in black and hot pink; this is what her and my daughter came up with. Since Syd is a chocoholic she wanted chocolate cupcakes with chocolate fudge frosting.

Pink/Brown Cupcakes

These cupcakes were created for a little girl's baptism. My client lives in Los Angeles and found me online. The baptism was in Chicago. I love having clients out of state; it's awesome! The flavors for the event were white chocolate with caramel buttercream, carrot with cream cheese, red velvet with cream cheese and chocolate with vanilla buttercream. These were really fun to make. I'm so grateful my client, Erin, sent me this picture. I forgot to take one and was really bummed, because I was so happy with how they turned out.

My client also sent me this lovely e-mail:

Hello!

I ordered cupcakes for my daughter Quinn’s baptism in Chicago a few weeks ago and wanted to share that the cupcakes were gorgeous and so yummy! We ordered red velvet, carrot, chocolate with vanilla frosting, and white chocolate cake with caramel frosting. Even though we had ordered plenty of extras, the cupcakes went so fast! Although they were all great, the white chocolate cake with caramel frosting was absolute heaven—it was like all good things in one small little package. Everyone at the baptism reception raved about the cupcakes. Thank you so much for making the cupcakes for our special day.

Attached is a picture of the white chocolate and caramel cupcake. The design you did for the cupcake was so adorable, had to share.

Warmly,

Erin

A Very Hungry Caterpillar Cupcakes

These cupcakes were created for a baby shower whose theme was "A Very Hungry Caterpillar"; the adorable and beloved children's book by Eric Carle. These caterpillars were very challenging and definitely a labor of love. I'm happy with how they turned out, but they were a lot of work. The dots on the other cupcakes represent all the dots that the caterpillar walks on, on the cover of the book. The cupcake flavors are: yellow with vanilla buttercream and chocolate chip with chocolate fudge.

50th Birthday Cupcakes

These were created for a client who was throwing a surprise 50th birthday party for her mom. She saw cupcakes similar to these online and asked me to recreate them. I made them with my own twist. Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and lemon cupcakes with lemon curd buttercream.

I received this lovely note from my client regarding this order:

Wow. Thank you so much for the beautiful cupcakes! Everyone loved them and they were delicious! I will definitely be ordering more cupcakes from you in the near future! :) Thank you again.

My last wedding of the year, and another one at Meson Sabika. Cupcake flavors: chocolate cupcakes with chocolate fudge frosting, yellow cupcakes with chocolate fudge frosting, banana cupcakes with chocolate fudge frosting, carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, yellow cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and chocolate cupcakes with mint buttercream. The top cake was done by Patty and was made to match the couple's wedding invitation.

Baby Shower Cupcake Tower

These were created for a baby shower whose theme was blue and brown. The "a" is the first letter in the last name of the baby. Chocolate and yellow cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting. Carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
